How do Friends help?
St Wilfrid’s Hospice is a charity and we rely on public donations for 86% of our running costs. Last year, the services we provided to the local community cost over £5m, yet our services are provided to patients and their loved ones free of charge.
By becoming a Friend of the Hospice you will be supporting us by providing a regular donation of your choice towards these services. You’re also able to choose whether you would like to donate to the Hospice on a monthly or annual basis. Every donation is greatly appreciated and will help us to continue providing our help to local people.
What does being a Friend of St Wilfrid's Hospice mean?
As a Friend you will know that you are helping the Hospice and the local people that we care for all year round. In addition, you will receive our Newsletter three times a year, which will keep you up-to-date with new developments and inform you of more ways to get involved, if you wish, with the Hospice.
How your gift can help
All donations are greatly received, but sometimes examples of our costs can help supporters decide what they would like to give and how often:
- £2.58 could help pay for a patient’s meals for one day.
- £24 could help pay for a staff uniform tunic.
- £46 could help us to provide one hours care through our Hospice at Home service to patients in their own home.
- £99 could help pay for a patient’s visit to the Day Hospice for one day.
- £398 could help pay for a patient’s care on the ward for one day.
How can I donate?
You have two choices of how to donate. Choosing to pay via a Standing Order will help us to save money by reducing our administration costs and will mean that your donation will go further. However, you can also send a cheque, if you would prefer.
