Remember us in your will

Gifts from Wills

One in three of us will have cancer at some point in our lifetime and for those of us under the age of 65, one in three will not survive. Cancer related conditions account for 95% of all admissions at St. Wilfrid's hospice.

Since 1987 St Wilfrid's Hospice has been caring for people in West Sussex living with terminal illnesses, while supporting their families and carers. We believe every person should receive the highest standards of care. We provide physical, emotional, social and spiritual care when people are seriously ill, to help them achieve the best quality of life.

Most of us cannot give as much as we would like to during our lifetime, in case we need it ourselves, but can afford to offer enormous help in the years to come by leaving a larger gift in our will. By giving money in this way, you cannot endanger your financial security in your old age.

The people who leave gifts to the Hospice understand the importance of legacy gifts to the future of St Wilfrid's for ensuring our patients, their families and friends continue to receive the specialist care and support currently provided. Last year a mix of both large and small gifts given via gifts in supporters' wills made up 25% of our income, making us dependent on this income.

Making a will is best done with the guidance of a solicitor. By making a will you are ensuring that you have provided for family and friends and causes that are important to you, giving you peace of mind.

A gift to charity, including St Wilfrid's Hospice, is exempt from inheritance tax. There are several different types of legacies and it is possible to change your will at any time.

If you require more information about leaving a gift to St Wilfrid's in your will please do not hesitate to contact Fundraising on 01243 755827 or email Fundraising.

A heartfelt thank you to those of you who have already thought of St Wilfrid's when writing your will.
