How You Can Help?

How You Can Help the Hospice

St Wilfrid's Hospice needs to raise £4.8 million pounds in 2009-10 to fund its work. Over 90% of this comes from donations and fundraising activity by local people.

Here are some ways you can help

Make a donation

If you are a tax payer, using Gift Aid adds an extra 25%, so be sure to let us know! Send your cheques to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Grosvenor Road, Chichester, PO19 8FP or donate on line just click here.

Become a Volunteer

You can contribute just a few hours here and there or make a regular commitment to help out. There are many ways in which you can help, both in the Hospice and in one of our shops.

Become a ‘Friend’

Take part in one of our sponsored events, or run one of your own.

Join your local Support Group

Our supporters run a huge variety of events from coffee mornings to duck races to antiques fairs and beyond! Every little helps towards our fundraising goal.

To find out your local Support Group contact, ring Jill on 01243 755827 or email Jill.

Donate to our Shops

Have a clear out at home and donate your unwanted clothes, shoes, furniture, books and other household items for us to sell in our shops. For further information, see our Shops page.

And visit us to buy yourself a treat or an item you need.

Leave a gift in your will

These gifts are very precious to us. They ensure that we are able to carry on our work to benefit all those patients who will come to us in the future.

For advice and help on how to do this, contact Fundraising on 01243 755827 or email Fundraising.

Corporate Partnerships

There are several ways for businesses and employees to support St Wilfrid's Hospice.

St Wilfrid's Hospice has built many valuable partnerships with companies who have given enormous support towards our work of caring for patients and their families and friends. Support can be given in all sorts of ways from donations and matched-giving, to organising awareness raising and fundraising events, and giving gifts in-kind – very often this may be expertise.

In return companies benefit from involvement with the Hospice in a number of ways:

  • Raise awareness of your company / brand
  • Exposure to new audiences
  • PR/ media opportunities
  • Demonstration of your attitude towards corporate social responsibility
  • Increased motivation and improved recruitment and retention of staff
  • Sponsorship opportunities

Sponsorship of our Newsletter published three times a year for supporters allows access to 14,000, mostly local, households. Sponsorship of other publications as well as events, such as our annual gala ball, can be discussed.

  • Charity of the year & employee fundraising

We would love your company to pick us as your favourite charity for the year. Money can be raised through selling items to your customers, organising events for your customers and/ or staff, collections and raffles. It is surprising how quickly a good idea can take off!

  • Payroll Giving

Donations are always welcome, including in-kind gifts and matched-giving. If your company runs a payroll giving scheme this can be a particularly good way to support the Hospice with a gift as Payroll Giving donations are taken direct from your pay before tax.
