From 1987 to 2007 we have received over 8800 referrals. We now average around 600 per year.

The Hospice receives 400 admissions per year and around 40% of these people are discharged home again.

Around 40% of the people we are involved with are never admitted to the in-patient unit, but are supported at home, at the day hospice and in hospital.

There are 210 or so patients under our care at any one time – in their homes, in hospital, in nursing homes or in the Hospice.

In 2007-08 our running costs will be  £3.9 million, of which only 11% comes from the NHS. The balance comes from our extensive fund-raising efforts.

The community nurses make 3000 home visits per year.
