Facts & Figures

Since opening our doors in 1987, St Wilfrid's Hospice has received over 10,000 referrals and we now average around 600 referrals per year.

The Hospice receives around 400 admissions per year and around 40% of patients are discharged home again.

Around 40% of the people we are involved with are never admitted to the in-patient unit, but are supported at home, at the Day Hospice and in hospital.

There are 220 or so patients under our care at any one time – in their homes, in nursing homes, in hospital or in the Hospice.

In 2011-12 our running costs will be £5.6 million, of which only 14% comes from the NHS. The balance comes from our extensive fundraising efforts and the extreme generosity of our supporters.
